The Span Center offers two Employment Assistance Programs for individuals aged 55 and older who are interested in re-entering the workforce or exploring new job opportunities. Businesses are increasingly recognizing the value of older workers who bring experience, maturity and a strong work ethic to the workforce. As trends toward early retirement reverse, older adults remain a vital and growing part of the labor market.
Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP)
SCSEP provides short-term work experience for income-eligible individuals. The program helps older adults upgrade their skills or learn new ones to secure permanent employment. By matching skills, interests and backgrounds with job openings, SCSEP supports older adults in their transition back into the workforce.

Job Referral File
For individuals aged 60 and older seeking full or part-time employment, the Job Referral File connects job seekers with employers. When a business contacts The Span Center with job openings, participants are matched with the requirements and referred for interviews.
