The Span Center offers free Medicare counseling through the Virginia Insurance Counseling and Assistance Program (VICAP), part of a national network of State Health Insurance Programs (SHIP). Our trained volunteer counselors assist Medicare beneficiaries, families and caregivers in understanding Medicare options and related health insurance benefits. Topics include:

In collaboration with the Virginia Senior Medicare Patrol, VICAP helps educate beneficiaries on preventing, detecting, and reporting healthcare fraud and abuse.
